IB TOK is assessed through two main components:
-
TOK Essay: Students write a 1,600-word essay on one of six prescribed titles provided by the IB. The essay is externally assessed and focuses on exploring knowledge questions, incorporating TOK concepts, and demonstrating critical thinking and coherence.
-
TOK Exhibition: Students select three objects and create an exhibition that connects these objects to one of 35 prescribed IA prompts. This component is internally assessed by the teacher and moderated externally. The exhibition requires students to explain the relevance of each object in illustrating TOK concepts and knowledge questions.
Both components are crucial in demonstrating students' understanding and application of TOK principles.
